Tricky is back with his eleventh studio album, 'Adrian Thaws' (which actually is his true name). The new LP, which will be released on the artist own label, False Idols, seems to be, once again, a change of direction in his lengthy carrer. At least, that's what the first single, 'Nicotine Love', suggests, as it's a dark visit into deep house territories and, with minimalistic lyrics and a few samples repeating in the background. Think of it as a kind of electronic tango affair.

Tricky, once a part of Massive Attack, decided to call the new record his own name as a statement: it's like there is still this part of him we don't know yet, like he still has lots of things to tell and show us. The album was recorded in London, right in Tricky's home studio and is packed with vocal collaborations from the likes of Mykki Blanco, Bella Gotti, Tirzah, Nneka, Oh Land, Blue Daisy and Francesca Belmonte, the latter singing in the new single.

Listen to 'Nicotine Love', and stay tuned for more news about this talented and uncompromising artist. And while you're at it, check Andy Stot strange and vaporous remix of one of Tricky's 'False Idols' songs.

Our friends Paradisko have recently released another great remix for their first tune 'Chewing Gun'. After the great versions of the original song by Xinobi, Digits and Mighty Mouse, it's time for Georgian duo Rotkraft (pictured above) to redesign it.

As you already may know, Paradisko are a new Turkish duo (Hemi Behmoaras and Hakan Özkan) and their single has already getting support by artists like Moullinex, Grum, ATTAR!, Fabrizio Mammarella, and many others, which showcases how talented these guys are and suggests their future will be rather promising.

As for Rotkraft, George Japaridze and Lasha Margiani have been making a name for themselves thanks to awesome remixes for the likes of Goldroom, AIMES and Phoenix, also releasing their own music. They love to create nu-disco, chill out music, always with a tinge of retro and tropical tones. Their recently released song Red Wine features vocals by Saint Kitten and is a compeling electronic cut with an extra acidic flavour. For Paradisko, they decided to strip "Chewing Gun' from its vocals and keep the synthetic bits, slowed the whole thing down and crafted a immersive journey into a neon cybernetic madness. Oh, and it's a free download! Thanks, guys!

Check the remix and also remember the original song right below.

Talking about Portuguese musicians is always a joy for Portuguese blog Opus Sound, so today we're sharing with you Moullinex's newest remix for Glen Check. Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Glen Check are an indie band that seems to love the 80's a bit too much, as their sound is teeming with vintage synthesizers, retro basslines and lavish rhythms. Their second album, 'YOUTH!', came out on november 2013, via Sony Music. Now, their single 'Pacific', taken from that LP is getting the remix treatment by a few artists like Justin Faust, Les Loups and brilliant Moullinex.

Discotexas frontman Moullinex (Luís Clara Gomes) has been quite active lately. His debut album, 'Flora', was critically acclaimed and is still present in our minds and cd players. He's released several mindblowing remixes for artists like Kraak & Smaak, Midlake, Rebeka, Munk and Xinobi, and his dazzling take on Röyksopp & Robyn's new single 'Do It Again' garnered him even more attention.

For 'Pacific', Glen Check's brand new single, he has strenghtened the funkier side of the track, throwing it one more decade into the past, right into the 70's, and the result invites us to succumb to the dancefloor laws; it's something that wouldn't sound awkward on Moullinex's album or even in Daft Punk's 2013 ubiquitous 'Random Access Memories'. It's a rare talent, the one displayed by Moullinex, to effortlessly bend any track's charater to his will and sound fresh and compelling.

And Moullinex will recently be featured on compilation album 'T(h)ree vol 3 - From Portugal to Japan and South Korea' with his song alongside Portuguese Best Youth (Ed Rocha Gonçalvez and Catarina Salinas), 'In the Shade', an exotic and magic ride into an orange sunset ocean. Pure bliss!

Check Moullinex's own vision of Glen Check's 'Pacific' and remember his remix for Röyksopp & Robyn's 'Do It Again'. After that, make sure you don't miss the funny video for 'In the Shade', filmed near Lisbon's Ponte Vasco da Gama.

Golden Bug (French Antoine Harispuru, now residing in Barcelona, Spain) has never been an artist concerned about how others might regard his music, and although he is mainly connected with nu-disco, italo and electro, his songs always seem to swap subgenres in the blink of an eye. Only one thing remains certain: he does whatever he wants and his music has an inherent daftness that perspires in tunes like 'Washing Machine', 'Flamingo' and 'Barbie's Back'. After his 2008 debut 'Hot Robot', he started Paris based label La Belle, remixed several artists (Clap Rules, In Flagranti, Whomadewho...) and released a few songs. Now, he's finishing his new album, 'V.I.C.T.O.R.'.

After 'One Way', it's now time for the new single 'Wrong Thing' to make us dance: featuring Lou Teti's vocals, it's once again a paradigmatic change of sound, venturing closer to raw techno and acid than most of Golden Bug's previous tunes. There's a bleak aura surrounding the whispered words, as if the whole thing was a dark descent into someone's subconscious and unspoken thoughts...

As for the remixes, Remain and Jupiter Lion offer different approaches on the original track, but Belgian duo Villa (pictured above) provide the highlight version of it. Trang Thung Thang and François De Meyer almost undress the song from its vocal elements and add some sweetness to the unsettling ambience of 'Wrong Thing', making it an electro devouring tour the force that builds up gradually, while keeping focus on the dancing quirkiness of Golden Bug's own signature. It's quite engaging and worth your while.

Villa have also released a few original tracks on Yuksek's label Partyfine: 'If I' and 'Exotic to Hell' both showcase Villa's ability to make our feet move uncontrollably and deliver some gorgeous pop inventiveness. Their latest single, 'Flying Panties', is a brash and vulgar flirt with heavy basslines which will be featured on soon to be released Partyfine's best-of CD.

Listen to Villa's take on 'Wrong Thing' right now, will you?, and as a bonus enjoy 'Flying Panties'.

Belgian Renaud Deru (pictured above), better known as ATTAR!, delivers a dark and ingenious remix for fellow country act Arsenal. The song, 'Black Mountain (Beautiful Love)' is taken from the band's sixth album, 'Furu' and is proppeled by the vocals of Tim Bruzon. It's a gentle song in which downtempo electronic patterns meld with soft rock structures. While the outcome sounds interesting, ATTAR!'s take on the original sure provides stronger reactions.

Receiving lots of attention with his current moniker ATTAR!, Deru has already been in his share of projects, of which the most successfull was the nu-disco infused Mustang act (alongside Andy Faisca). Now part of the Eskimo Recordings team, he has already released two great singles: the disco and house flavoured hit 'The Fool' and, most recently, the highly synthetic and robotic '45 Days', which features vocals by Santana and Induce. Both tunes make us look forward for future releases.

As for this remix, ATTAR! keeps it simple and dark, using a deep and slightly acidic bassline that will make you dance in no time. There are dry snares and clap effects throughout the track, devising new directions for the vocals, which now sound menacing and sinister. It's a rather acomplished feat to simply steal a song's positive aura and dress it in bleak electronic garments.

Check the remix and don't miss ATTAR!'s latest single while you're at it.

Spanish producer Henry Saiz is about to release a second LP, after his last year opulent debut album 'Reality is for Those Who are Not Strong Enough to Cronfront Their Dreams', an audacious double LP which wide range touched several music subgenres: techno, progressive house, downtempo, tech-house and even balearic.

Actually, his new work, titled 'Reality Addendum' (out June 19), is a collection of b-sides and bonus tracks that were left out of his first album. One might thought it will be a lesser release, but if the first single, 'White Rhythmic Mirror', serves as a herald, it only bears good news. In fact, listening to the album preview suggests a more focused and equally great work, playing with new sounds while keeping the tribal atmospheres that permeated the first LP. As for the mentioned track, it's an languid tune that slowly builds into a proto-balearic dream where sand grains flow in an endless and effortless zephyr.

Like other Spanish producers that also use shamanic textures and precussion in their electronic landscapes (John Talabot, Pional...), he takes us in a breathtaking journey into new worlds of beauty. Saiz is an impressive artist whose work we've only recently discovered, but that has already captivated us.

Listen to 'Reality Addendum''s first taste, and stay tuned for the album release. Also recall his excelent remix for Igor Cold's track 'Far North Maps'.

In less than a month, the über-cool La Roux (Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid) have unveiled two tracks from their sophomore album, 'Trouble in Paradise'. After the mellow but effective single 'Let Me Down Gently', it's time for 'Uptight Downtown' to stir things up a bit.

La Roux's sound is less electronic and takes a step further in the use of live instruments, which make the tracks feel more organic and tangible. The result, in this case the new single 'Uptight Downtown', is an up-tempo song, riddled with guitar riffs that woudn't sound strange in a Niles Rodger's tune. It has a pop structure, but also has some funk and soul quirckiness that trully make it remarkable and fresh, but still imediately recognizable as a La Roux track. Sure, the 80's vibe isn't so dominant, but all that has made them famous in the past is present: breezy vibes, careful songwriting and pure pop inventiveness.

A few days ago, the official videoclip for the previous single 'Let Me Down Gently' has surfaced, and it shows Elly in a minimalistic visual approach, far from the artifices of previous videos. Also, a remix of the track by the talented Prins Thomas was made available.

Check them all right now, while you wait for 'Trouble in Paradise' to drop (on July 7).

Satin Jackets is the moniker of German Tim Bernhardt, a Dj and music producer that dwells in the balearic spectre of electronic music. His music, be it in the form of original tunes or highly praised remixes, always has a lush sound and it can easily make you go down the memory lane with its vintage synthesizers and nostalgic atmospheres.

Having already featured other artists like KLP and Patrick Baker in his own songs, he is also a fruitful remixer: his reworks of songs by the likes of Tesla Boy, Gero, Follow Me and, more recently, Salt Ashes, have the power to send the originals into new sonic directions, that are both exciting and intriguing.

His newest effort is a remix for 'Tendency', a wonderful online collaboration between Estate & Liquid Pegasus, two acts that have worked together to release an EP with the same title. Estate is a duo from Minneapolis and New York City (composed of Josh Johnson and Dan Kramer) who produce funk and sun soaked music, while Tokyo-based Liquid Pegasus really likes groovy rhythms and retro soundscapes, so their combined tastes result in three sultry tracks that capture the 70's and 80's brisk vibes but gown them with today's modern concepts of electronic melodies and ambiences.

The original 'Tendency' has a nice house thump that infects your body with viral precision and summery synths that envelope the whispered male vocals to create a delightful tune. Satin Jackets' remix emphasizes the track freshness and builds up for almost two minutes before the drums kick in. It's a dandy affair, the one that he exploits in this remix, as he interweaves sensuality with lazy harmonies and puts up the perfect song for staying in bed with your love on a Summer morning.

You'd do well to listen to the entire EP, as songs like 'Tuff Luv' and 'Banana Boat' also have their charm and the release comes with other remixes from Keenhouse, Edit Murphy, First Touch and SloSlyLove. Oh, and watch the video for 'Tendency', for it's the first 3D GIF music video ever.

A few weeks ago, we've presented you Tourist's remix for London Grammar's single 'Sights'. Now, after the British indie band has released a remix album with new versions of songs taken from their debut album, 'If You Wait', which included Jonas Rathsman, Isaac Tichauer, Friend Within and RAC, it's time for Leo Zero to rework London Grammar's hit 'Strong'.

Leo Elstob (his real name) has proved himself a great DJ over the past years, remixing artists like Bryan Ferry, The 2 Bears, The Golden Filter, Madonna, Lana Del Rey, Metronomy, Hercules & Love Affair and Adele, just to name a few. His signature is a constant love for all things electronic, with a tinge of balearic, house, acid, nu-disco or funk perspiring in each of his creations. As for the rest, he is unpredictable.

For 'Strong', he uses a steady percussion sample, keeps the vocals unaltered and throws in some long range effects. In it's repetitive structure, it's highly efficient and enthralling, hinting at the upcoming Summer nights in his swirling around a breezy bassline and drowsy rhythms.

Check it right away, as it is one of the best remixes out there for this song (you can also download it for free), and remember to follow his Soundcloud page for new tunes.

Once again, Opus Sound selects 10 remixes that deserve to be listened to. Enjoy!

î Kiesza - Hideaway (Bixel Boys Remix)
Canadian Kiesza is most surely trying to make a statement, combining house textures with pop promptness, something her first single 'Hideaway' explicitely showcases. L.A. based duo Bixel Boys have done a great work in adding deepness to the house core of the original track, toying with its vocals and infusing a bit more of that extra special flavour we all love in their productions: groove.

î Elekfantz - She Knows (Gui Boratto D.O.C. Club Remix)
Heading from Brazil, Daniel Kuhnen and Leo Piovezani, aka Elekfantz, have worked together for more than 20 years, but only now they have begun working seriously under this moniker. 'She Knows' is the new single, taken from the upcoming album 'Dark Tales & Love Songs' (out June 2), on Gui Boratto's new label. The seasoned producer and DJ has given a nice retouch to their song and made one of his best remixes in the last months.

î Röyksopp & Robyn - Do it Again (In Flagranti Remix)
Switzerland based electronic duo In Flagranti put their hands on the new track by Robyn and Röyksopp and the results are quite exciting. The Scandinavian musicians have teamed to create new songs, a collaboration that will originate a mini-album of pure electronic fun. In Flagranti leave the awkwardness that usually soaks their productions and transform the original song into something that resembles a massive electro wrecking ball with techno and industrial infatuations.

î Nils Noa (feat. Vinny) - Fade Away (diskJokke Remix)
It might no be what one expects from cosmic disco aficionado diskJokke, but a new remix from this talented Norwegian artist is always a journey to other worlds. This time, he takes his country fellow Nils Noa song and morphs it into a experimental adventure that is as demanding as interesting. There is a scary strangeness imprinted in the remix but you might find it rewarding after one or two listenings.

î SomethingALaMode (feat. DWNTWN) - On My Mind (Jean Tonique Remix)
After featuring Dan Black on a previous single, french duo SALM (SomethingALaMode) have teamed with DWNTWN's vocalist Jamie Leffler for another song from their forthcoming sophomore album, 'Endless Stairs'. Jean Tonique turns the more stratospheric original version of 'On My Mind' into a slow dancing summer hit, filled with sugar and rainbows, making us want to dive into a clear water beach right now.

î Chet Faker - Blush (Jüan du Sol 'Late Night Touch Up')
Who would ever thought that the eccentric and experimentalist musician Chet Faker would sound so wonderful after being remixed into something completely different? Jüan du Sol, from Australian trio RÜFÜS, uses only some samples of the vocals and fills the minimalistic structures of the original song with bouncy beats and a powerful bassline, throwing it right into the middle of the dance floor. Wow!

î Reflex - Sunset (Bufi Remix)
Bufi is quite unstoppable lately, having released his new EP 'Selvage' on DiscoTexas label and remixing several artists. This is one of his most imaginative efforts yet: he creates a dark and highly synthetic version of Reflex's new single 'Sunset', venturing away from the nu-disco soundscapes he usually produces. The remix is an electrifying journey into the twilight zone and moves slowly and creepily into the realms of nightmares. Like mindless zombies, we follow him and succumb to his power.

î ATTAR! (feat. Induce & Santana) - 45 Days (Rob Made Remix)
Hailing from Belgium, ATTAR! has already delivered some great tunes, like his original song 'Fool' and great remixes for the likes of Adamski, Propellers, Citizen and even Giorgio Moroder. His new single, '45 Days', features Induce and Santana in a retro romance story embellished with vintage synths. Rob Made brings a housey aura to the track, adding deep basslines and funk elements to the formula.

î The Swiss - In the City (Adapt or Die Remix)
Australian Adapt or Die are becoming one of our favourite remixers with their powerful and vibrant reworks for other artists. After RÜFÜS and The Aston Shuffle, it's now time for The Swiss to get their latest single 'In the City' revamped into a tour de force built on top of gargantuous beats and loads of fun. They successfully mix electro with techno like few other artists can, draining our adrenaline to the last drop.

î Miami Horror (feat. Cleopold) - Colors in the Sky (Chrome Canyon Remix)
American synth lover Chrome Canyon makes an absolutely delicious rendition of Miami Horror's song 'Colors in the Sky'. He keeps the slow rhythm of the original, even downing the BPM rate a little bit, and adds layers and layers of vintage samples to produce a sensual and retro version that truly crawls underneath your skin and makes your body wiggle in lascivious manners.

He hails from Venice, Italy, and makes nu-disco music with a dark tinge. That's a simple way to describe the work of Guglielmo Bottin, better known by his surname, Bottin, a producer and DJ who is fond of italo-disco, house and funk, mixing all of those genres into a menacing and unpredictable musical journey.

After remixing artists like Lindström, Sally Shapiro, Ali Love, Lost Valentinos and In Flagranti (just to name a few), he received much attention with his 2009 album 'Horror Disco' (his sophomore), released on Bear Funk, a label where he clearly feels at home. That album showcased all of Bottin's strange retro-landscapes, sometimes filled with sensuality and others with urgency and dread. Now it's time for his third album.

Titled 'Punica Fides' (once again via Bear Funk), it will be less experimental and more dance floor oriented. With only nine tracks on the list, the album will still be heavily influenced by Bottin's selective taste in spacious disco and funk, groovy synths and tempting beats. Besides the instrumental tracks, there will be some vocal collaboration: Lavinia Claws and Rodion join the party, but the most surprising appearance will be Steve Strange, the lead vocalist of Visage, the pioneer group of the New Romantic movement that emerged in the 1978 London nightclubs. Bottin had remixed Visage's single 'Never Enough', taken from the group first album in almost twenty years and released last year: 'Hearts and Knives'.

'Punica Fides' will be released on May 20, but while you wait, listen to Bottin's excelent remix of Visage.

Single after single, the twin sister duo Say Lou Lou are making us more and more anxious for their forthcoming debut album. Elektra and Miranda Kilbey grew up between Australia and Sweden (their parents home countries), so it's only comprehensible that their sound has that dream pop / dream wave quality that could only result from the mix of these two countries.

After successfull singles like 'Maybe You', 'Julian' and 'Better in the Dark', the siblings have recently unveiled a new song, 'Everything We Touch'. Floating like a seagull over the ocean, the single is a perfect tune to play as the weather gets warmer. It's riddled with pop sweetness and a youth radiance that it will, surely, make you go down the memory lane into your juvenile memories, when Summer days went on forever, brimming with promises and adventures. Truth be told, ABBA would be proud.

Officially, the song will be released on June 2, with a b-side called 'Peppermint', and has already received a videoclip, which you can watch below. It is as colorful and vibrant as the song suggests, and shows Say Lou Lou painted in gold and becoming one with the cosmos. About the album (to be released on their own label À Deux), the girls have stated that they have a lot of songs ready and that they really want to quickly get them out there; Sounds great!

The sisters also have been selective about the remixers for their songs, preferring producers who never fail in delivering quality music like Tiger & Woods, Lancelot, Dan Lissvik, Martin Dubka, Monsieur Adi, Montauk and CFCF, so now they got Yannis Philippakis (from Foals) to remix 'Everything We Touch', and he really puts on a show at reimagining the tune. Be sure not to miss it!

Andy Butler, the mastermind behind the excelent outfit Hercules & Love Affair is readying his next album, a terrific and gorgeous house celebration of love and its demise aptly titled 'The Feast of the Broken Heart'.

After the 2007 hit single 'Blind', the group (which has constantly mutated and has had several formations along the years, and where one can find names like Nomi Ruiz, Antony Hegarty and Kim Ann Foxman), Hercules & Love Affair has been floating between house, synthpop and disco, but for their third album, all but the festive house tonalities were left behind. And the new formation will include vocals by a new array of artists like Gustaph, Rouge Mary, Krystle Warren and John Grant, who sing in several tracks.

The new single taken from the album is 'I Try to Talk to You', on which John Grant lends a deep, candid and heartbreaking contribution. Having previously worked together (Butler remixed one of Grant's songs, while Grant sang in some of the group's live performances), the vibrant, old-school and rhythmic meanders of Hercules & Love Affair are a perfect match for the american musician' muttered vocals. While the song is a lush and dynamic trip, impeccably crafted for the dancefloor, John Grant keeps it real, his sad words and piano ramblings becoming trully intimate and giving the track a closeness that sometimes strays far away from electronic music. It will surely be one of the album's standout tracks.

Talking about the song's lyrics, Butler explains: 'I asked John to dig deep with his lyrical contribution. I had no idea he would dig so deep. He tackled the story of becoming HIV positive, and while I mentioned to him that he did not need to go there if he was not comfortable, in that beautifully punky, spirited and courageous way he has about him, he told me that was what the song was going to be about."

Listen to it and don't miss Deetron's massive remix of 'Do You Feel the Same', the previous single also taken from Hercules & Love Affair forthcoming third album, which will be released on 26th May, on British label Moshi Moshi. Also expect remixes by Derrick Carter, Ha-Ze Factory and Dinamo Azari.

He's a living legend.
Giorgio Moroder is the pioneer of modern electronic music, becoming famous during the 70s and the 80s when he founded synth disco and electronic dance music. He worked with Donna Summer, David Bowie, Blondie (just to name a few) and has composed original soundtracks for movies like Midnight Express, The Never Ending Story and Scarface. It's impossible to forget his classic hits for Queen of Disco Donna Summer, 'Love to Love You Baby' and 'I Feel Love'.

Now at 73 years old, Moroder's career seems to have been fueled again and he doesn't show any signs of slowing down. The Italian producer, songwriter, performer and DJ has recently collaborated with Daft Punk on their newest album, 'Random Access Memories', where he talks about his influential contribuition to music, and he is working on a new album (still untitled).

Now, he has reworked Coldplay's new single, 'Midnight', which will feature on the band's sixth full-lenght, 'Ghost Stories' (out 19 May). The original song shows Coldplay diverging from their alternative rock and joyous sound to an experimental and introspective take on electronics. Moroder's remix adds synthetic dreamscapes and epic and thrilling layers of magic, even tossing in some frech vocals filtered through vocoder effects. It's quite breathtaking and always a pleasure to listen to two brilliant and distinctive acts work out together in such a wonderous way.

Listen to the remix and check the videoclip for Coldplay's 'Midnight'.

It's always nice to listen to fresh new stuff from some of our favourite artists and it has been a while since American Matt Masurka - better known as Gigamesh (pictured above) - released something new. But the wait is over!

He decided to revamp Junior Jack's old tune 'Thrill Me', which is a heavilly sampled tune, a massive party anthem filled with groovy basslines, female vocals and brass instruments. The original dropped in 2002 as a single from the Italian DJ and producer's first album, 'Trust Me', but it will be re-released once again next May, with remixes by Riva Star, Got Some and Gigamesh.

Toying with the original song, Gigamesh undresses it from its club structure and rescues just a few vocal lines and cut up samples. Then, he adds his pop icing on top of those elements, a sprinkle of nu-disco and subtle melodic synthesisers. The result, while not as good as some other remixes Gigamesh has made, is quite delightful and it trully revitalizes the original, exploiting the seasoning it has achieved today (more than ten years after the original release), instead of remaking it, once again, into a banger.

Check it out!

He is one of the most unpredictable names in electronic music. It's hard to put French producer Joakim Bouaziz into one or two genres or labels, and even harder to tell someone what his music sounds like, as he's always changing it. Only one thing is certain: his strangeness is always present.

After the criticaly acclaimed 'Nothing Gold' (from 2011), where he played with leftfield, synthpop and nu-disco, he's back with 'Tropics of Love', a twelve track album that will probably have a broad musical spectre and Luke Jenner (ex-singer of The Rapture) will be featured in one song.

Joakim said he was influenced by modulated synths, Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon and r&b to create the ethereal and outworldly athmosphere of the album, one that can be evidenced by his first single, 'On the Beach', released a couple of weeks ago. It's a cover of Neil Young's original song but it has Joakim DNA all over it. The single will be remixed by Principles of Geometry (who are also ready to release their new album, as we've told you about), CFCF and Joakim, himself, will also recreate the track.

'Tropics of Love' will be released on Tigersushi (Joakim's own label) around May 26th. Check the original and CFCF's remix right now.

The Aussie trio RÜFÜS has just unveiled a new video for 'Sundream', one of the most enticing tracks from the band's debut album 'Atlas'.

The full-length (released last year) was well received thanks to its fresh and broad take on dance music, combining a summer vibe with icy rhythms and a sense of hugeness, as if Jon George, Tyrone Lindqvist and James Hunt wanted to describe landscapes through music. It's riddled with joy and youth, while using dichotomies to create a vibrant sound: hot panoramas envisioned through cold samples, reckless beats encasing thoughtful lyrics and spaciousness suggested by small details.

The video for 'Sundream' upholds this imagery using shots of girls in bikini diving into water and plays with reflexions and kaleidoscopic effects to achieve crisp visuals. It sure makes us want to jump right away into those summer sweaty days. The single comes with remixes by Hayden James (which you can find right bellow), Claptone and Wordlife.

One thing is certain: London Grammar, the British indie-pop trio that has rippled through last year's music scene with their wonderful and inspiring debut album 'If You Wait', also has a knack for selecting great artists for remixing their singles.

After Tensnake, Bodhi and Bonobo recreated 'Hey Now' to their own images, and Jonas Rathsman revamped 'Strong' with posh dancing colours, it's time for young William Phillips, aka Tourist (pictured above), remix 'Sights', another track from the full-lenght. Tourist also comes from London and has been on fire for the last few months, releasing high quality songs one after the other.

His remix for London Grammar new single begins quietly, a gentle awakening in a sunny sunday, giving space for Hanna Reid's naked voice to build up from a whisper to full bodied vocals and then, only then, the lush and tender electronics devised by Tourist start to expand, remarkably envelopping her sweet voice in silk garments and precious jewels.

It's an outstanding rendition of an emotionally intense song, one that could only be made by Tourist's sensibility. Take some time to listen to it and also check his latest single, 'I Can't Keep Up' (vocals by Will Heard), featured on Tourist's new EP Patterns, which will be out on 20th April. It's absolutely awesome!

The ammount of great remixes that are released daily makes it impossible to keep track of everything. But since there are lots of remixes that trully deserve recognition, Opus Sound will start, periodically, to select a few that, even if not featured in individual posts, shouldn't be missed by anyone who likes electronic music. We'll mostly try to select fresh stuff, but nothing prevents us from occasionally walk down the memory lane, right?
For this first Selection, we recommend:

î MSMR - Hurricane (Goldroom Remix)
L.A. based Josh Legg (aka Goldroom) never disappoints when recreating other artists work, lending them a summer vibe to which is difficult to resist. Indie pop band MSMR's single 'Hurricane', taken from their debut album 'Secondhand Rapture', becomes a blissed out, dreamlike sugarcane thanks to his envying ability to breathe warm and sweet textures into its sad atmosphere.

î Javeon - Intoxicated (The Magician Remix)
Javeon's singles have been consistently very good, a great harbinger for his debut album later this year. His r&b textures couple with nu-disco, electronic and pop inflections and even if his sound is intimate, it aspires for grandness. The Magician has just released a house-infused version of his lastest single, 'Intoxicated', and it has his signature all over.

î Jagwar Ma - Uncertainty (Cut Copy Remix)
Australian psychedelic band Jagwar Ma get a remix by country fellows Cut Copy for their great tune 'Uncertainty' (from their last year's album 'Howlin''). The expansiveness remains a constant in this new version of the song, which delapidates its indie rock elements to bring forth the dancey ingredients, adding a cheerful sound that we instantly recognize as Cut Copy's trademark.

î Scavenger Hunt - Lost (Noah Hyde Remix)
Hailing from L.A., Scavenger Hunt is a duo composed of Jill Lamoureaux and Dan Mufson, that have recently released their first EP, which has two songs, the wonderful 'Lost' (released in 2013) and the sensual 'Dreamers'. American Noah Hyde leaves his comfort zone made of synthetic and retro soundscapes to create a breezy and organic remix for 'Lost', a trully lovely version that enhances Jill's soothing vocals.

î Night Drive - After Dark (The Penelopes Remix)
Electro pop with noir tinges the flavours of Night Drive's new track. The music of this Austin based duo drinks from seminal acts like OMD, New Order and even LCD Soundsystem. 'After Dark' gets the remix treatment by Parisian duo The Penelopes, who revamp it into a more club oriented track while preserving the retro vibe intact, thanks to an impressive handling of neon synths and infectious basslines.

î Leisure Cruise - Double Digit Love (Plastic Plates Remix)
Where Leisure Cruise (new duo from Brooklyn, USA) find happiness in vintage ramblings and raw electronic guitars and in painting the future as they envision it in the past, Felix Bloxsom, better known by his alias Plastic Plates, mixes the original material into something poppier and more fast-paced. Both the versions are great, but if you want to dance, this remix might just suit you.

î Battles - My Machines (Museum of Love Remix)
Experimental rock meets experimental disco. The New York based trio Battles released their sophomore album, 'Gloss Drop', back in 2011, followed by a record with new versions of the songs in 2012. By then, an embryonic Museum of Love were already reworking one of the tracks, 'My Machines', into an avant-disco derangement, completely erasing the rock complexions and adding contagious dance structures. Let's remember it.

î Lane 8 (feat. Lucy Stone) - Nothing You Can Say (Baio Remix)
British Chris Baio, member of Vampire Weekend, is making quite a name for himself as a DJ and remixer. This time, he's all over Lane 8's new track 'Nothing You Can Say', which features a lovely vocal work by Lucy Stone. While the original is a charming electronic tune that streams progressively through deep grooves, Baio throws in a balearic flavor, some nervous clicks and faded howls, enhancing its dreamlike virtuousness.

î RÜFÜS - Take Me (Miguel Campbell Remix)
One of the most soothing remixes made for the last year's hit, 'Take Me', by Australian RÜFÜS. British nostalgic DJ Miguel Campbell takes the original sparsness as a mold and fills in the spaces with a groovy bassline and a funky rhythm. He keeps it simple and just adds some neat arrangements in the right proportions, valuing efficiency over excess.

î The Subs (feat. Colonel Abrams) - Trapped (Compuphonic Remix)
The Subs have just released their new album, 'Hologram'. It's an uncompromising and intense mixture of genres, but one of the stand out tracks is 'Trapped', a new rendition of the 80's single by Colonel Abrams (which re-recorded his vocals with the trio). Belgian DJ and producer Compuphonic transforms the song into a shinny dance gem, where the voluptuous kicks coil around the intense vocals and grant instant satisfaction.

For anyone who followed Opus Sound's previous incarnations, it won't be surprising to know that we're absolute fans of Young Galaxy, a Canadian indie pop/ dream pop band (pictured above). Mantaining a low profile after two albums, the band released their their third LP in 2011, 'Shapeshifting' (produced by Dan Lissvik), receiving critical acclaim for the change in sound direction. Since then, they've embraced their balearic side and, in 2013, released 'Ultramarine', again with Lissvik production skill in the background.

Today, we're featuring a remix the band did for Juno Award-winning Canadian rock singer-songwriter Sam Roberts, who, under the moniker Sam Roberts Band, released his fifth album, 'Lo-Fantasy', on Paper Bag Records in last February. While the original song, 'Shapeshifters' is a colourful and sun soaked rock song - with handclaps and funky basslines -, Young Galaxy turn it into a eight minutes summer jam, dressed in psychedelic regalia and blissful harmonies. There are druggy synths and deep beats evoking a shamanic ritual and the band doesn't shy away from twisting the vocals or toying with the song's original material until we feel a wonderful sense of dizziness and rapture. As soon as you press play, you'll be craving to dance to this superb tune at a sunny beach in no time.

You'll love it and you won't be able to stop listening to it. Don't say we didn't warn you.
