Blende - Paramount

Blende (Johan Klebery) is a London based artist, but he was born in Stockholm, Sweeden. Actually, for the moment he is temporarly living in China... Since 2006 he's been producing electro music that, just as his moniker suggests, blends several infuences, but the sun soaked, disco blissed themes he creates all have one thing in common: his love for synths and funk.

One can easly find those elements in his remixes for artists like Goose, Crayon, Skrillex and even Azari & III, and in his own productions. Recent tunes like the daftpunkian 'Fake Love' or the stratospheric 'Rikki' - released on the exciting belgian label Eskimo Recordings - surely helped to strenghten the hype around him. Like other artists who dare and try to make a difference in a genre that his getting quite overcrowded, Blende's work is consistent, methodic, often enticing and fun to listen to.

This time around, it won't be any different. His new EP, 'Paramount', will soon be officially released, tightening the close relationship with Eskimo Recordings (April 7th). The three instrumental tracks sure make us wanna do some nightdriving through out an endless dark road, no destination required. The title track is a disco-infused anthem, pure synthesized euphoria, while 'Sparkle' slows down the BPM to deliver a heavy bassline and a vivid reinterpretation of the 70's. Finaly, 'Plush' brings back the nostalgia while playing with its vintage textures.

Try it out. You won't be disappointed.
